The Gates, Central park

Here's the slideshow! Enjoy! It's a loop from Strawberry Fields, over the Bow Bridge, through the ramble, around the boathouse, by the fountain, and out again... The guy with the pole is one of the many Gate Pokers--their job is to unravel the material should it get wound around the gates--which it does. (They've thought of everything!) But some critics have frowned on the colour: a saffron, rather than a deeper Tibetan orange. And it is a bit weak...but stunning too, especially when the wind catches the fabric, or, as here, when the sun gets behind... Not sure what the animals think of it. The owl tree has had its branches cut so nowhere for the long ears to hide now.
